Featuring 88 Key Multi-Channel Sampling and Resonance Modeling Technology for Authentic Concert Grand Tone

(Rancho Dominguez, CA) Kawai debuted two new models of its award winning Concert Artist (CA) Series hybrid pianos at the 2020 NAMM show in Anaheim, California. The new CA99 and CA79 boast substantial upgrades over the previous models, including an improved Grand Feel piano action, a newly designed full color touch screen and improved rendering sound technology. With an enhanced sound system and separate headphone amplifier from Onkyo, these two new models represent a new level of concert grand authenticity.

The new Concert Artist CA79 and CA99 digital pianos feature Kawai’s new Grand Feel III action which delivers a firmer, faster, more authentic grand piano feel. Attributes include fully wooden keys, ebony and ivory touch key surfaces, let-off and triple sensor key detection.

The improved Shigeru rendering multi-channel sound engine provides vastly enhanced piano samples that are among the best in the industry. The CA99 boasts an Onkyo-designed TwinDrive Soundboard Speaker System, which employs a real spruce soundboard, and both models include 360-degree diffuser panels that expand the piano’s projection in all directions for more natural sound anywhere in the room.

The industry-leading LCD color touch screen has been improved and optimized for pianists. The pianos also feature Bluetooth audio and MIDI connectivity, MP-3 and WAV audio recording and playback with overdubbing. The new models also offer built-in lesson songs from a variety of popular method books and etude courses, plus finger exercises and Hanon exercises.

“The new SK-EX rendering piano sound with multi-channel sampling offers the most realistic concert grand piano sound yet”, states Alan Palmer, Kawai’s senior product specialist and development projects manager. “And with our incredible new Grand Feel III actions, these models are setting a new standard by which pianists will judge hybrid pianos.”
