Rancho Dominguez, CA • June, 2008–Kawai is pleased to announce that Ryan Tedder and OneRepublic have joined the growing roster of Kawai Artists. A Kawai MP8II Professional Stage Piano along with other Kawai acoustic and digital pianos will grace the OneRepublic stage on their upcoming summer tour. More recently, Ryan Tedder performed on a Kawai RX-1 Baby Grand on the American Idol Finale with contestant David Archuleta.
Formed in Colorado by Ryan Tedder and guitarist Zach Filkins, OneRepublic gained tremendous mainstream attention with the release of their single, “Apologize,” which has sold in excess of 5 million singles worldwide. And, according to SoundScan Data, it is one of only two songs that have reached 3 million legal downloads and was the biggest radio airplay hit in the history of Top 40 radio in North America.
Their debut album, “Dreaming Out Loud”, was released in the US on November 20, 2007 and was certified platinum worldwide (in excess of 1 million units sold) as of April 1, 2008. The band’s 2nd single “Stop & Stare” has also crossed the 2 million mark in terms of world-wide single sales, and they are currently gearing up for the release of their 3rd single “Say (All I Need).”
In addition to his work with OneRepublic, Ryan Tedder’s credits include co-writing the smash hit “Bleeding Love” for Leona Lewis, penning and producing “Do It Well” for Jennifer Lopez, and “Love like this” for Natasha Beddingfield, among others. Tedder also worked on three tracks on Paul Oakenfold’s Grammy nominated “A Lively Mind” and has upcoming projects with Chris Cornell and Beyonce.
