| Make "Favorites" Your Favorite Feature!
On the CP119, 139, 179 and 209 Ensemble Pianos, one of the most useful features is the ‘Favorites’ button. Actually, there are two – one in the ‘Sound’ section, and one in the ‘Style’ section.
As you get to know your CP ensemble piano, you’re sure to discover specific sounds and styles that suit your playing. The problem is, you may find a particular sax sound, a banjo, a glockenspiel and a trombone that are all located under different buttons on the panel. With over 1000 sounds available on the CP pianos, remembering where they are, particularly during a song, can be a little daunting.
The ‘Favorites’ button allows the user to store their favorite sounds and rhythm styles in one convenient place. That way, as you are playing a song, making changes in sounds and styles is easy. Simply press the ‘Favorites’ button and all of your favorite sounds or styles will be right there on the screen!
Here’s how to arrange your own favorites page: In the ‘Sound’ section, the last button to the right is ‘Favorites’. Press that button and you’ll see a variety of piano sounds listed in the screen. These are the default settings.
Highlight ‘Concert Grand’ by touching that sound in the touch screen. Then, touch ‘Sound Select’ in the lower right corner. This allows you to choose your favorites by using the large dial to scroll through all the sounds until you find one you like. Or, you can simply use the Sound buttons to locate the sound you’re looking for.
Let’s use ‘Breathy Tenor’ as an example. When you find ‘Breathy Tenor’ in the Woodwinds category, highlight it and press ‘Exit’. This brings you back to the Favorites screen and ‘Breathy Tenor’ will now be displayed in the first position. Touch the next sound in the list, find another sound you’d like to use, select it and press ‘Exit’. Again, you’re back at the Favorites page with ‘Breathy Tenor’ listed first and your second choice listed under it.
Repeat this process until you have all of your favorites in one place. After you select your favorites sounds, press the ‘Save’ button at the bottom of the screen, then ‘Yes’ and voila!... your most favorite sounds are ready any time you are.
Obviously, the same procedure would be followed over on the ‘styles’ side of the panel.
