Who We Are
Kawai America Corporation is the US subsidiary of Kawai Musical Instruments Manufacturing Co., Ltd., headquartered in Hamamatsu, Japan. We are the manufacturer and direct seller of Kawai pianos through kawaius.com.
When you purchase directly from kawaius.com, you are buying from Kawai — not a third-party retailer or marketplace, and your order data is handled by us.
One exception worth calling out: if you submit a contact form, appointment request, or trade-in inquiry through a dealer storefront on this site (for example kawaius.com/store/dealer-name), we share that submission with the authorized dealer for that location so they can follow up with you. Dealers are independent businesses and use your information under their own privacy practices.
What We Collect

- Name, email, phone, address — When you make a purchase, fill out a contact form, or sign up for our newsletter
- Payment information — Processed securely by Shopify at checkout. Kawai never receives or stores your full card number.
- Order and communication history — So we can help you if you need support or have a warranty claim

- Pages visited and time spent — To understand how customers navigate the site
- Referral source — How you found us — Google search, social media, email, etc.
- IP address and approximate location — For fraud prevention and regional content
How We Use It
To fulfill your order
We share your name, address, and order details with our logistics and delivery partners solely to complete your delivery. They are not permitted to use your data for any other purpose.
To communicate with you
We'll send order confirmations, shipping updates, and warranty information. If you opt in, we'll send occasional product updates and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time — every email has an unsubscribe link.
To improve our site
Aggregated, anonymized analytics help us understand what's working and what isn't.
To prevent fraud
We use your order data to detect and prevent fraudulent transactions.
Advertising & Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information for money. We have never rented or sold customer lists, and we don't intend to.
We do, however, use standard advertising and analytics tools — including the Meta Pixel, the Meta Conversions API, and Google Ads tags — that share limited information about your visit (such as pages viewed and actions taken) with those platforms so we can measure our advertising and show you relevant ads. Under California law and several other state privacy laws, this counts as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, even though no money changes hands.
You can turn this off. Decline marketing cookies in the cookie banner and these tags stop sending data. See Your Rights below for how to submit a formal opt-out request.

Your Rights

US State Privacy Laws
If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, or any other US state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law, you have the right to know what personal information we hold, to request its correction or deletion, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising. We honor these rights for all US residents regardless of state.
You can opt out of advertising and analytics tracking directly by declining marketing cookies in our cookie banner, or submit a formal request by emailing [email protected]. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Canadian Residents
If you are in Canada, your personal information is handled in accordance with PIPEDA and, for Quebec residents, Quebec's Law 25. You may request access to or correction of your personal information, withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time, and request that we stop using your data. EU / UK Residents (GDPR)
Our legal basis for processing your data is contractual necessity (to fulfill your order), legitimate interest (analytics and fraud prevention), and consent (marketing). Visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland are asked for consent before any analytics or advertising tools load. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

No system is 100% secure, but we take every reasonable precaution to protect your information.
