Barry Conrad is a versatile talent whose work as an actor, singer-songwriter, and performer spans film, television, theatre, and music.
He has brought original characters to life in some of Australia’s most recognizable TV productions, including Neighbours, Home and Away, Return to Paradise, the AACTA-nominated series Erotic Stories, and the #1 box office hit The Sapphires. On stage, his dynamic presence has been seen in key roles such as in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In The Heights at the Sydney Opera House and in the Australian debut of the Tony Award-winning musical Violet, for which he earned a Sydney Theatre Award nomination for Best Actor. Most recently, he has been cast in the lead male role for Destiny, a production by Melbourne Theatre Company.
His performance in the short film 4D earned him a Spotlight Short Film Award in the U.S., while his role in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical contributed to a show that went on to win five Helpmann Awards.
As a singer-songwriter, Conrad has worked with numerous industry heavyweights, including Rodney Jerkins (Grammy, Billboard, and American Music Award winner), OneRepublic (Grammy, ASCAP, and Billboard Music Award winners), Tom Coyne (multi-Grammy Award-winning mastering engineer), and R&B legends K-Ci & JoJo. His international touring credits include performances at major venues such as The Dome at America’s Center (St. Louis), United Center (Chicago), Staples Center (Los Angeles), The Sambadrome (Rio de Janeiro, in front of over 100,000 people), and the Festival of Life in Zimbabwe (drawing a crowd of 250,000).
In addition to his on-stage and on-screen work, Barry hosts Banter with BC, a podcast spotlighting a wide array of voices and creatives. Guests have included talents like Keiynan Lonsdale (The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow) and David Berry (Outlander). In 2025, he joined SAG-AFTRA actress Melanie Avalon as the new co-host of The Intermittent Fasting Podcast, a U.S.-based health and wellness show.
Outside his artistic pursuits, Conrad lends his voice and influence to meaningful causes and brands, proudly serving as an ambassador for R U OK?, Kawai, and Panasonic.
