The MP10 digital piano was part of Kawai’s line of professional stage pianos that was named “Pro Digital Piano Line of the Year” by the readers of MMR Magazine in 2014. With 88-key piano sampling (and our proprietary Harmonic Imaging sound technology), it provided a wide range of excellent sounds as well as a great touch with real wooden keys. Three independent sound sections (Piano, EP, and Sub) provided a full range of amazing keyboard sounds and an expanded effects section provided amazing sound-shaping capability. Now a Kawai Legacy product, the MP10 paved the way for the newer MP11 which, along with the MP7, was named “Pro Digital Keyboard Line of the Year” by the readers of MMR Magazine again in 2018.

An exceptional piano. I used it for both big and small concerts. KAWAI MP10 performed the violin duet “Guarneri del Gesu -” which belonged to the great Romanian composer George Enescu and came out extraordinary with the Mellow Grand piano sound. A sustainable piano that inspires you through sound and challenges you at the same time through wonderful interaction.

One of the best !

I have been playing piano and organ for 28 years professionally touring and studio work. I am very picky with my keyboards and have owned multiple high end keyboards
– Roland Fantom, Korg Triton Extreme, Yamaha Motif XF, and Nord Stage 2 – and 88 key controllers but this… the feel of the MP10 is above any of the above boards. The Nord Stage 2 was my fav until I touched this. The sound of the acoustic pianos on the Nord are better, but these are very good and will not disappoint you. The strings and pads are a great additive, but the electric pianos (Rhodes, Wurlitzer) stand out the most for me. PIANO – EP – PADS are separate sections that have their own volume control. I love this. EP comes with an amp button that models the sound of your electric piano to various amps. There is also Reverb and 2Fxs buttons per sound. Fx vary from multiple kinds of pan, flanger, chorus, and ping. The ability to save a sound setting as a preset is great. Yes the sounds are limited to very few but it is not a workstation. The sell for me was seeing how many times I found myself wanted to play it and being willing to sell other keyboards for it.
The weight of this board – 70 pound – is an important feature, but I do not have intentions to use this for gigging.
Outputs!!! Not just your normal L/R and headphone but also a built in DI (xlr) with ground lift. 3 pedal options. USB, midi in/out/thru.
Modulation and pitch bend wheels function like any other but they are solid.
As mentioned above, the feel of the keys… butter. The keybed is not your normal plastic keys but it is real wood with great action. The sound of the keybed is controlled and quiet. No loud clicking. This is EASILY one of the best keyboard purchases I have ever made. No regrets on this purchase.
