As the owner and operator of Soundhammer Studios, we needed a solution to capturing great piano sounds while the artist plays, so as to not also allow bleed. It’s important to some artists to be able to state their own time and feel according to how they sing. The Kawai MP11SE is a studio-grade solution and workhorse. The sounds are incredible, the feel of the Grand Feel keyboard is over the top. All our artists LOVE this keyboard. Even when we mic’d the baby grand, the Kawai sound was just TOO good to ignore. So, away went the baby grand, away went our vintage Fender Rhodes. The Kawai MP11SE was a godsend to us. We can now offer recording solutions and quality that we never had before. Thank you Kawai!. The only thing negative I could say is that the rear xlr connectors are clocked incorrectly for 45-degree cables. When you use a angled cable, you expect the angle to go down. However, they installed them backwards and the cable point straight UP. I solved this problem by purchasing special angled cables that allowed us to reclock the direction of the angles back down. It’s a small oversight that most will not even notice. Still…the Kawai MP11SE is the best investment we’ve made to Soundhammer Studio this year.
